Role: Fashion Designer/Seamstress

Team Size: Solo Project

Objective: Design a monochromatic look in either black or white. Once completed, take photos of the final garment and create a 2D creative expression that utilizes the garment in some way.

Process/Challenges: The first step was to create a toile in a similar fabric to the fabric I intended to use for my final garment. After constructing the toile, it was time to begin constructing the final garment. Some of the challenges I faced with this project include: working with a limited fabric supply since I purchased the fabrics from Austin Creative Reuse, having a difficult time constructing my intended design on my final fabric as it did not drape as well as the muslin on my toile, and realizing that some of the design choices I made for the final garment took a lot more time to construct than I intended.
